How do I create a sub-forum?
How do I create a sub-forum?
Hi,
I've not posted too much on here to date, but I think I may post more in future, partly spurred on by the Socially Distanced Challenge which I've just posted my entry into. I've seen that many people have their own sub-forum under the "on My Workbench" area. This seems a good idea, but there doesn't seem to be any way for me to do it - I imagine that it is probably something the moderators need to do? If so, could you arrange this please.
Thanks.
Tim Lewis

Thanks Tim. You are correct to surmise that forums need to be created by the moderators.
In general, for the benefit of future readers, the best way to start an area in 'on my workbench' is to start a thread in the on my workbench forum, and then ask for it to be moved to a new sub-forum that the admin team can create.

Crikey, that was quick! Thanks John.

Hi John,
Can I jump on the bandwagon of this thread please?
I too am taking on the Socially Distanced Challenge and would like a place to document my future shelf-of-shame candidates!
Cheers,
Liam

yes, of course. Please do start a thread in the main 'on my workbench' forum, and I'll then use that to create your own area.

John.
Can you turn my ' Weskies workbench' into a sub-forum?
Thanks

Done!
Re: How do I create a sub-forum?
John, I am keen to jump on this band wagon:
1 to bring my threads together as they tend to merge some what...
2 remember that I have already started a thread on the kit I started 3 to 5 years ago, so they can be resurrected!
Thanks
Doug

The On My Workbench forum 'Armchair Modeller' has been removed at the member's request. It was last updated in 2017, and the member indicates they no longer wish to have an area associated with their modelling.

Sorry I seemed to miss this Doug. If you would email me links to the threads you suggest, I'm sure we can come up with something.

Paul Willis asked me nicely to change his Flymo748 username to ‘Paul Willis’, so I’ve also changed his on my workbench area to match.

Thank you John!
By way of explanation, whilst I was Deputy Chairman, I wanted to keep my postings under two different persona - an official one, and a slightly less official and scruffy around the edges one. The latter being a bit like my modelling, in fact.
Now that Danny is filling the role of DC extremely well, I felt that it was time to step out from my pseudononymous shadow and post under my own name. John kindly indulged me by sorting it out!
Cheers
Paul
