THE EPSOM SHOW 2019

Postby PDS » Sun Mar 31, 2019 12:50 pm

This year's Epsom Show will be held at its usual venue at NESCOT on the weekend of 27th & 28th April.
Last year we had a plethora of P4 and EM layouts - this year just the one, but what a one! As I'm pleased to say that Howard Bolton will be attending with 'Minories'. This will be a rare opportunity to view this wonderfully modelled terminal station (the end of a short branch off the East London Railway) with exquisite trackwork and working semaphore signals set in an urban landscape. And not forgetting his manual lever frame complete with full working locking.
To quote Howard "an interesting but neglected stretch of railway burrowing under the Thames to link the SECR and LBSCR main lines at New Cross with the GER at Liverpool Street. Minories miraculously survived the Second World War almost unscathed and by the late 1950s provides a steady if unspectacular EMU service to South London, enlivened in the rush hours by loco-hauled services to the non-electrified parts of Kent and East Sussex."
For those who appreciate excellent modelling in other scales/gauges there is a set of complimentary layouts from 2mm to 7mm. In fact this year there will be seven 0-gauge layouts on show, plus one modelled at 8mm/ft.
