With regards to the solebars:-
Do they have separate overlays?
If so what thickness do you use for the overlays?
Is the river detail etched or punched from behind?
If punched from behind may I ask what tool do you use to get such consistency?
Here is a picture of the underframe etch. It shows that the solebar is a fold up with a half etched insert so that the rivets are uniform in height and width.
It's etched in 12 thou nickel silver so that the half etch is 6 thou.
The solebar steps when folded up need the rivets pushing through from the back, I use a GW Models riveter but have since made new tools to fit it with different points and angles to the 45 degree pin point supplied and use the Limiter to keep the same depth.
I must admit that depending where the rivets are I sometimes just push them out with a scriber.
