Warley 2016 (Special 40th Exhibit)
I wouldn't normally put a link to the Warley Show on our homepage, but this year they are helping us celebrate our 40th Anniversary!
There is a dedicated exhibition section, organised around one of their aisles. Of course, there will be lots of other things to see at the show.
More information about our special exhibit here, and full details of the show from the organisers here.

Are you ok for numbers for Warley? I live 2 stops down the line so getting to the NEC is very quick/easy for me.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the offer. We have a full house at Warley so should be OK but do drop by and say hello to the chaps on the stand.
John.

And just to confirm a point made on the information page about the Society's presence at Warley, Elcot Road will definitely be present on the Rail Express stand. The Warley show this year will probably have the largest showing ever of layouts built to P4 standards.

You're missing out.
So much to see, typically in excess of 80 layouts and 150 trade stands. Thankfully I live close. I used to go by train but Sunday trains leave later so not as good.
The only thing I dislike is the yellowy lighting...well, and the fact the car park charges take the urine right out of your bladder.

About one very two minutes then, not allowing for demos, comfort breaks, spectating at the Bachmann returns scrum, etc.
I think you need a cunning plan to get the best out of it.

They didn't do it at Ally Pally this year, instead having a big Collector's Club only part of their stand. So it is likely to be the format of the stand for Warley I'd imagine.

If you check the Warley exhibitors web site you will see there is a second Bachmann stand seperate from the main stand, this will be where the sales scrum will be.

But then this year there'll be the opportunity to chat with Jol, worth the entrance fee all by itself

Re: Warley 2016 (Special 40th Exhibit)
Preparations for the Warley show at the NEC with London Road are proceeding steadily, with a recent set up test weekend in the local village hall to check that everything is working. So far, so good. As usual the gang came up with various suggestions for minor improvements, additions, etc. safe in the knowledge that they won't have to do them.
The plan for Hall 5 at the NEC shows the S4 aisle is fairly central and reasonably near to those specialist suppliers attending that support 4mm finescale modelling. We are also on the route from the visitors entrance to the Bachmanns Sales stand, so the 100 metre dash when the show opens may provide some interesting viewing.

And I'll be one of those manning the Bachmann Sales Stand, so hope I don't get trampled underfoot at the end of that 100m dash

Re: Warley 2016 (Special 40th Exhibit)
The van is loaded ready for an early start tomorrow morning (as these things go) so I shall have time to call in at the MG Owner Club on the way and still arrive early enough to deal with the NEC bureaucracy.
Having followed the Warley thread on RMweb,it seems the S4 collective presence has had no mention, so I am looking forward to a quiet weekend. If anyone here makes a visit, please stop by to say hello and check if we are all awake.
I have a small supply of Paracetamol, plasters and Germolene on stand D35 should RedDragon be wounded in action.

The van with the Rail Express display, Elcot Road, Scalefour Society stand, and LB Railway stand is also loaded apart from the stock and other items to go in later. This year is the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the Network South East brand and the Rail Express display will feature a display of models in those colours and a collection of NSE literature.

Warley may not be to everyone's taste but I have never known it to be quiet! There will be a big P4 presence at the show this year although Elcot Road, stand A39 will be separate from the rest of the P4 presence.

Re: Warley 2016 (Special 40th Exhibit)
As part of our presence at Warley, the Society will be releasing its latest pair of products.
These are starter packs for those that are fresh to P4 and want something simple to start with or are thinking that they might having a try at modelling in P4 and want to sample it.
These packs contain either a Parkside BR steel mineral wagon or a RCH timber mineral wagon, along with the appropriate sprung chassis, wheelsets and sufficient material to make a short (300mm) length of track. As such, it is hoped that most interests will be covered, to give the purchaser something that they actually want.
The intention will be that these are available to members and non-members alike - they are priced at £15, which is fundamentally just the cost of the components. Obviously, there is information upon the society included in the pack. The instructions are by way of links back to John Chamber's wagon building threads, which will be mimicked on the public section of the forum, to enable non-members to post queries and feedback on the kits.
Presuming they catch on, the idea will be that there will be a small stock of them that accompanies the stand around the country at future shows (although we are going to suck it and see on this). If there is demand, they will also be put into the stores for future sales.

I shall be up on the Sunday and looking forward to it.
I don't know who came up with the idea of putting the Bachmann sales stand at the furthest point from the entrance but I salute them.
It's going to be a chaotic steeplechase of punters seeking the elusive 'bargain'.
I hope someone films it and overdubs the 'Chariots of Fire' music!

Unfortunately, I am unable to attend Warley this year.
Other than the P4 presence, the continental layouts are usually "wow"!

I shall be accompanied by a colleague who is 'mad' on the LNWR. He has already spent several hours watching London Road at St Alban's and Railex this year. We plan on leaving him at London Road as a sort of 'creche' - we'll know where he is like that.
We're leaving from Norfolk at 07.30 hrs so we'll miss the Bachmann Steeplechase. However, I'm surprised they are reinstating the sale as I was told by the local rep last year that improved quality control had reduced the number of returns.
Looking forward to the S4 displays greatly.
