The Perth (Scotland, not Australia ) exhibition takes place this coming weekend and is due to be held at the Dewars Centre in Perth. As part the Society's 40th anniversary celebrations we are having a bit more of a presence that usual. There will be three layouts built to P4 standards - Blackston Junction by Richard Darby, Calderside by the West of Scotland group and Longcarse West built originally by David Furmage and now owned by Simon Bendall. Longcarse West will be shown in a slightly later period than that used by David and will be set in the early 1980s. There will be a demonstration by the East of Scotland AG and the full Society stand will be present staffed by Mike Ainsworth with assistance from local Society members.
The Society is very grateful to the show organisers for their support in permitting a Society presence of this size and we look forward to seeing lots of P4 members from Scotland and hopefully those from a bit further away as well.

Re: Perth Model Railway Exhibition
A show worth attending
A caution though, Scotrail are currently experiencing a series of strikes, 24hrs today and Thursday 23rd with a 48hr strike due on Saturday/Sunday 25th- 26th
Talks broke down yesterday and the latest news is that Edinburgh-Perth-Inverness route hopes to run a limited service on strike days, whilst Glasgow-Perth-Inverness services are expected to be totally curtailed. No news on Aberdeen - Perth services

Not sure about the improved bit David, but it will certainly be revived.

I shall be going on Sunday to give some support to Peter Heald who will be demonstrating the finer arts of wagon construction and conversion.
