I've just posted a set of updates, including the addition of Ynys Gwyntog by the late Bob Barlow, exhibited by Iain Rice.

Fabulous John, Great photo. I would love to see more of the layout if it is on the web some where?

I have had a quick look and cannot find any pictures. The layout was featured in issue 100 of Narrow Gauge and Industrial Railway Modelling Review. This journal was edited by Bob and is probably still available from the publisher. Try editorial@greystarpublications.com

As well as being at Scalefour Southwest, Ynys Gwyntog will also be at Scaleforum although that may not help Doug much. What we will do is to get the official photographs to take some pictures which can then go on our web site.

The official photographer has already taken some photos of Bob's version of Ynys Gwyntog, unfortunately they are far too large to post on here!

Some camera phone snaps taken at Larkrail in Bath a couple of weeks ago. In the flesh it really is a work of art.

The Society stand will be present. Unfortunately Membership Secretary Danny is unable to come so I will be dealing with membership matters and there will be various models around from Dave Keeler and myself. Do stop by and have a chat.

I've uploaded the show guide PDF.

It includes updates since Scalefour News went to press, but not all the changes - Ynys Gwyntog is not listed within, but is going!

I see that the Demonstrations section in the guide has become partly duplicated somehow.

I will be stewarding on Sunday and manning the Fraternity's charity bookstall in aid of Railway Children. We recently received a donation of 100 quality railway books to dispose of as we see fit.

For anyone travelling by road don't forget that the Bristol Balloon Fiesta is also taking place next weekend which tends to cause a fair bit of traffic around the south west corner of Bristol.

As usual, Chris Challis has put together an excellent selection of exhibits.

My route to and from Wells takes me along the Long Ashton Bypass. Railwells always coincides with the balloon fiesta, but I have never encountered a problem with the traffic, going past Ashton Court (sticking to the outside lane, if traffic is queuing to get into the fiesta).

The A37 is an alternative if anyone is worried about being held up.

However the LA bypass has been down to one lane and traffic lights often in recent weeks due to heavy roadworks at the north end. Check before use as long queues have been happening. I use A37 every year and never had a problem.

Yes, I'd forgotten that. Better go by the A37 then.

Just returned from the show. Again an excellent show. Terry is doing a grand job explaining track work construction and the stores seem to be doing good trade! :)

Thanks to all visitors and participants who helped to make our show a great success again. It's not the easiest of venues to use with all the various staircases and one very slow lift but we managed to extricate all the layouts and stands safely by 1930.

Treated myself to a well earned pint of cider in the Crown after - didn't even touch the sides!

Looking forward to the next one but in the meantime I might motivate myself to make the journey across to the other place next month.

Yes it was and examples of very good modelling in all scales and gauges. Due to involvement in running a layout I missed the duty on the Society stand last year but we were certainly busy both with members and general enquiries, and it seemed more so than in previous years. We also enrolled two new members so a good result. :D

I arrived home yesterday (Mon) after attending the Exhibition on Sat. It was well worth the journey and equally nice to put a face to a name after nearly 10 years of membership. The venue and weather were perfect and I feel that those "Top Office Chaps who spent their time and effort have my thanks.
