Manchester is Back - in 2015
Manchester Model Railway Society is delighted to announce that their next exhibition will take place in The New Century Hall, Manchester, M60 4ES on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December 2015.The Society has taken the opportunity, offered by a year without an exhibition, to re-think all aspects of its annual show. To mark its 90th birthday year, the Society has made the bold move of returning to the city centre and to its traditional pre-Christmas timing. As well as being the third oldest model railway society in the world, Manchester Model Railway Society is the only one in the UK to stage an exhibition in the centre of a major city.
The New Century Hall is our previous, well established, city centre venue with excellent facilities, just 200 metres from Victoria Station and barely 350 metres from Shudehill bus and tram interchange. It is ideally placed to allow visitors from all over the country to visit one of the finest model railway exhibitions in the UK, and also to visit the acclaimed Manchester Christmas Street Markets. Although planning is still in its early stages, the society intends that there will be layouts in a full range of sizes and scales, representing railways from all over the world and from many different time periods , together with trade stands, demonstrations and lectures. To be kept informed of developments as the Exhibition takes shape, join our mailing list by emailing: exhibition@mmrs.co.uk
Updates will also be given on our Facebook page:

Excellent news and it is very good to see one of the oldest local model railway societies back on the exhibition circuit in a significant year. The change of date will also avoid the longstanding difficulty caused by the Manchester show coming a week after Scaleforum which will make it easier for the Society to support the event.

Excellent news Andy.
Glad to see that you're back to the old place. Very convenient for access.

Re: Manchester is Back - in 2015
Towards the end of the summer we received news that changes to the timescale of the redevelopment of the Shudehill area of the city would mean that the New Century Hall would probably no longer be available for us. The exhibition team were all determined to press on with our objective of staging the only model railway show in the UK to be staged in a major city centre, - and on the published dates. We decided that we would make every effort to find an alternative venue in the city centre and, after much searching and negotiation, we have bounced back.
Our next exhibition will now be held in the Barnes Wallis building of the University of Manchester’s northern campus.
The Barnes Wallis is the next building along from the Renold Building on the old UMIST campus where we held our show prior to moving to New Century Hall. It is only two hundred metres from Piccadilly Station and Metrolink stop.
Now the work towards next year can really begin!

"Barnes Wallis building" ... "bounced back"
Nice one. Have you chosen a theme tune for the exhibition yet?

I just hope the exhibition doesn't bomb, because that would be dam annoying.
Make Worcestershire great again.

As far as aircraft are concerned, turning up in Wellingtons might be more appropriate

At least in December there should not be any trouble from Mosquitos.
