Evening,
I have the MSE kit of 1988 vintage to consider building.
These smaller Co's are not so well documented. So I ask if a gem of a person may have a nugget of information about this vehicle. No drawing, or reference info./pic. being provided. And what books I have zero horse box reference.
Axlebox castings are RCH/GW, & Lamp Irons match some GW coaches. So maybe asking a lot.
Grateful for any help.
Steve.

Re: Taff Vale Horse Box
According to GWR Absorbed Coaching Stock, ER Mountford, the TV had:
5x 14'6" long built Cathays 1888/1889, nos.281-285
3x 21' long built Bristol W&C 1910, nos.286-288, GWR nos.503, 522, 660 scrapped 1935/6
3x 14'6" long built Oldbury C&W 1890, nos.289-291
the earlier vehicles only lasted a few years after the grouping.
No pictures or drawings. But I think that the WRRC is bringing out a book about TV rolling stock sometime.

You could always pm Rod Hall - who's a member on here - and also Secretary for the WRRC. I'm sure he'd be able to answer with a little more clarity or may be able to point you to some who does know.
cheers

Re: Taff Vale Horse Box
Thanks for the reference Mike.
I joined the WRRC for a year, but do not recall much ready ref. for such wagon info.
I recall Derek Mundy as a member, and organising site visits etc.
I also purchased some TV coaches, which after a chat he kindly sent me copies of his ref. material from an aged magazine.
So there must be something similar to create the artwork.
No references are made with the kit bar that is quoted above; and the solebars are devoid of detail.
Its not that I do not always trust the kit details, but like a GA etc for adding details that cannot always be cast and suchlike.
I have a NRM GA for a 1890's Brighton loco which enables me to super detail the build, and provides more painting opportunities.
I am happy to contact Rod, if he does not mind, but do not know how one accesses personal contact details.
Trust your County is running well.

Go to the 'User control panel' and you'll find a tab with send a private message on it. You can search for members from within that tab.

Snag though. You cannot search by name, only by user name and if you don't know it . . .
