I am going to need 12 just to bring be up to date so 14 for me green cordex is fine, is it worth a mention on RMWeb to see who else need them.

Please no, I couldn't cope (at least not while I'm doing it on a strictly non-commercial basis). Besides which, we've now got requests for about 100 on this forum. I'll give it to the end of the week on this forum, and then see about putting an order in.

Some slightly bad news on this, I'm afraid. The initial quote I obtained was for wirex binders. In view of what appears to be a majority preference for cordex binders I've now obtained a quote for them and unfortunately they will be 50p (inc VAT) more expensive than the wirex. That will bring the cost of the binders up to about a fiver each.

Hi DT,

That's no problem for me - and still looks cheaper than the standard A4 ones made by Celsur.

Happy to go with Cordex and 10 should still be fine for me.

If I could summarise, the following pople have indicated that they would like binders:

Gordon A - undefined number
David Bigcheeseplant - 14
AUllyott - 10
Rod cameron - 10
doktorstamp -10
Flymo - 20
Newport Rod - undefined number, possibly 2
Trevor Grout - 10
Me - 20

The binders would be green cordex ones with "Model Railway Journal" in gold letters down the spine (see my earlier posting with the photographs for the style, which should hopefully turn out like the photo Rod Cameron submitted). They will cost no more than £5 each plus carriage to you, which will be at cost, either standard parcel or courier, whichever is cheaper.

I would therefore be grateful if everyone above would be good enough to confirm their orders, and if Gordon A and Newport Rod would like them, please let me know how many. As things currently stand I'll be ordering 100 and as I'll have to put the cash up front I'm afraid I'll have to ask you all for payment before I place the order. I'm told that as these will be specially made, delivery will take about 5 weeks.

Meanwhile, if anyone not mentioned above would like some, please let me know!

Actually I'll need 15 for a bit of future proofing (thinking they held 20 and not 12 each!).

Davey,
I've been tossing this around and concluded that my collection does look a mess in its present hotch potch of binders and magazine holders, so I'll splash out and add another 20 to your list.
Thanks
Keith

Put me down for 20 as well.

Is it possible to have the same but without the "Model Railway Journal"? If so can I have 5 plain ones for my collection of British Railway Journal?

regards

Only just seen this. I'll have ten please.

How do you want payment?

Payment can be made to me by cheque or Paypal, but not yet - when Modern Bookbinders ask me for money, then I'll ask you.

Alan, I'll ask if I can get some unprinted ones at the same time, ditto with brown ones, David. I've a feeling that they're all going to have to be the same but there's no harm in asking.

I'm going to leave this open until the end of the week, then I'll go ahead with the order.

I understand it should be possible to get plain ones included in the order, but they'll have to be green (by which I mean dark green). Please confirm if you would like five plain ones in addition to 20 printed ones.

Final price, incidentally, whether printed or plain, will be £4.75 for each binder plus postage from me to you. I estimate that carriage, certainly for the larger orders (10+), will be by courier @ £6.99 to which I may have to add the cost of a box (35p).

Davey,

if it is not too late, can I increase my order from 14 up to 20.

I'll then use my plain black ones for the Snooze, etc.

Many thanks,

Jol

Jol, That should be OK. The order has gone in, but I asked for a few more than actually ordered to cater for any late requests. I'm afraid I can't remember the exact figures, but if as i anticipate there are an extra six, they're yours!

Whilst not wanting to hijack Davey's thread, by a lucky accident I've discovered that Ultra-Pro comic series magazine bags are available in a size that fits GWR Journal and MRJ perfectly. For those who don't want to bind their magazines immediately or prefer them unbound these might prove to be useful as they're acid-free and '100% archival safe' (whatever that means!) I originally purchased them for archiving old WTTs and they're available in packs of 100 from various ebay sellers.
