Thanks for posting those, they are new to me and nicely fill in the area not captured in the Britainfromabove images.

No problem Jerry - yes Britain from above gets tantalisingly close but just misses the shed area!

No progress to report on the layout itself, but with more modelling weekends now available I should be back to it reasonably soon.

Cheers,
Pete

Hi Pete, I'm still following your progress, keep up the good work.
Wharfeside is slowly coming on too with the fiddleyard panels being built in this era of self isolation. No shops, no cafes, no pubs and no model club....

Cheers

With apologies to Peter for hijacking his thread for the moment, but I followed Dave Franks youtube links and found a fabulous clip of a high speed reverse of a substantial freight train:

Its very impressive; so worth a look.

Dave does seem to have a penchant for ridiculous haulage experiments

Thanks guys, just did it to prove you don't need to add 'extra' weight to haul long trains, I just put brass bearings on all the wagons and coaches so the locos don't strain themselves and the motors, gears, bearings and frames last longer....
See also this:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2c7erF1hLs Loco by Phil Cowling.

Haulage record for a DJH CSB 8F stands at 117 wagons so far but more are being fitted with bearings so that might change.
The Bachmann Jubilee has had Gibson wheels and an LMS CSB tender chassis fitted but no extra weight. (Or in fact any detailing yet...).

Anyway, back to Pete's thread.

What do you weight your wagons at Dave?

No problem with the hijack - good to see some traffic here, and videos of Wharfeside are always good to see!

It is certainly an odd time - but the sun is out, the modelling bench is active, and we'll all be able to share our progress again at some point.
