Having received it in the post today, I couldn't resist getting one of the power cars out of the box so APT-E has paid a visit to the works while the engineers try and figure out why the wheels are 2.33mm to narrow for the track

Not sure if I will to be honest. It's a model I wanted but it'll be a stretch too far to run it at South Pelaw

Certainly true it is a stretch of imagination.....but will be converting mine at some point. Initial pokes and prods suggest it's split axle too.

If you P4 it John it'll be welcome on my little layout, set in downtown Alloa.

I'm intrigued - does it tilt? And does it fail to tilt, at random moments? You'll need to do something about that, if you are going to convert it - after all, we're supposed to be getting it, all right!

It does tilt although my current layout isn't curvy enough for that. As for random failures I believe that the P train was more likely to do that than the E train.

'The Works' is off to it's new owner on Saturday so here are a final few photos of the layout before it leaves for pastures new.
I'd like to thank everyone who has commented on the thread for their kinds words and encouragement since I started over four years ago now. As I've said before, the layout was built to prove that I could do P4 and, in that regard, it has been a success despite it's ultimate operational limitations.

I think it looks stunning and it's achieved it's aims so you should be proud of what you have achieved.
