A sense of post Covid normality has returned to NEEAG, although we are well aware the pandemic is still with us.
We have been meeting twice monthly, usually for daytime meetings, to catch up with work on the Group's Lavenham layout. We now have a storage shed at the Colchester SMEE site, for the layout boards, supports, etc. Unfortunately the boards seemed to have suffered a little in storage during the last two years so some remedial work has been necessary. However we are making steady progress, the trackwork is nearly complete, the wiring and point operating systems are underway, the main buildings are being built, etc. It has been an interesting exercise so far as we have researched different ways of doing things, so successful, some less so.
Currently eight or nine members are able to attend regularly, from as far afield as Leigh on Sea and Rendlesham in Suffolk. We would be delighted f any of the new S4 members in north Essex or south Suffolk would like to visit one of our meeting. Our next meeting is on Thursday 11th August from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. at;
The Colchester Society of Model and Experimental Engineers Clubhouse
13a President Road
Colchester
CO3 9ED
As well as working on Lavenham we will be discussing our own individual modelling activities, etc.

Re: NEEAG update
Seven members attended the meeting. Of the three other regular attendees, one was in hospital, one on a Thames sailing barge and the other AWOL.
Some further work on the Lavenham project, although the weather was rather too hot and humid so progress was a little slow nor helped by a surfeit of jam doughnuts and other tasty treats.
Our next meeting is planned for Thursday, 25th September (weather and the economy permitting).

Re: NEEAG update
Indeed it was a warm one! Nonetheless, the the PW Team cracked on with some adjustment while the Sparkies planned and prepped for the electromagnet uncouplers.
And here are some snaps of the day...
