SWAG is part of the Leamington & Warwick Model Railway Society and we are in new premises (the club converted it from a farm barn) about 7 miles south of Leamington. This provides 3,600 sq ft for layouts, discussion area, library and kitchen. See http://www.lwmrs.co.uk for more details.
Although SWAG is situated in South Warwickshire, it also has active members from North Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and other nearby counties and still includes several members who have moved much further away.
The SWAG layout is Clarendon which has been to many exhibitions over the years including Scaleforum. We are now working on an extension providing carriage sidings and also exchange sidings for a gas works so there is an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of layout building. The layout is still exhibited several times a year. Also several of our group are working on their own P4 layouts so there is a lot of experience in the group to provide help to anyone starting out in P4.
The group meets at least weekly usually on Thursday nights from 19:30 onwards (and afterwards at a local hostelry!). If you would like to visit the club rooms, please contact me directly for details of how to get to there (via email - swag at scalefour dot org - or see the Blue Sheet).
SWAG members will be at the LWMRS exhibition on 21st/22nd January at the Stoneleigh Park Exhibition Centre (between Coventry and Warwick) operating Walford Town (making yet another comeback!) and the Scalefour stand will also be present so please come along for a chat. The LWMRS club also has its open day following the exhibition on Saturday 4th February at its club rooms. So if you can’t make a Thursday night then come along on the 4th to see the club rooms and all our layouts including Clarendon and meet SWAG members. Again, contact me for directions.
