Does anyone know how to contact A1 Models? Howes and MG Sharp were unable to supply any details of the current whereabouts or whether he is still trading.

I am trying to buy the kit for the Ruston 48DS shunter.

Thanks

Tim

Yes, I believe that I have tried both the retailers who were prepared to do business with A1 Models.

Andy,

Unfortunately both retailers were the only sources of A1 Models parts. :|

Amazing what a little ferreting can turn up....
That would be an ecumenical matter.

I know that this is a large late type input into this subject, but I can confirm that the e-mail address on the above link does work. However please note that the gap in the address between john and a1m is an underscore _. This is not apparent when looking at alink which is underlined by the microsoft system.
I have recently completed some business with Mr Flower who was very helpful. I explained that I had some items on back order from MGSharp models for several months, and he supplied them for me direct from his show stock and etches in his workshop. So it is always worth a try if there is soething that you need, and it is out of stock with MgSharp but available for "back order"!

Also it is good to find that the models have appeared elsewhere from a different source, congrats on successful ferreting.

Having acquired the Ruston 48Ds 'kit' - etches and four buffers, I am a total loss as to how to motorise this critter. Advice from A1 mentions the Bachmann gandy dancer mechanism but I really want to shunt (just one wagon) and I don't think that the Bachmann is up to the job.

Tim V is using a Dennis Lawton chassis for his Wickham, are there any other suggestions as to what options are open for the Ruston?

Has anyone made a successful example of this kit and could share their experience?

Thank you

Tim

The pair of (Impetus) 48DS on Green Street are each powered via a tiny Mashima through Exacto RGD and wormboxes.

RT Models do a chassis, not sprung but i guess it can be converted.

SGLC002 Ruston 48DS etched nickel silver chassis kit.
A very simple fold up etch with brakes. £9.00 Requires wheels, High Level Slimliner gearbox and motor is required to complete.

This is designed with a single powered axle and compensation to fit under the former A1 Models etched body kit (now Old Time Workshop) or the out of production Impetus kit.

Just so you know

no connection with this other than it made me think.
