I was passing through a junk yard last week and came across several treasures:
Does anyone have any ideas of the crane's origins?

Re: Yard crane
Steam powered and rail mounted (but not self propelled), so perhaps designed for fairly intensive and mobile use, perhaps in a large coal depot or an industrial works.
The plate appears to say Engineers and London but I can't make out the name(s). Couldn't you have had a scrape at it, Andy?
On the subject of Yard cranes, there is (was last year anyway), a crane in a Woodbridge boatyard, believed to be a GER hand cranked yard crane from Woodbridge station goods yard. It may still be there and up for grabs as they were considering disposing of it.

Re: Yard crane
It looks like "Reid & Cove, Engineers, London" but Google doesn't show any historic references to Reid & Cove. Cove engineering do cranes, but they were only incorporated in 2004.
