New Area Group
North East of Scotland (Grampian) Area Group (Proposed New Group)

We wish to consider setting up an Area Group based on a reasonable travelling distance around Aberdeen. The group is intended to be a meeting of like minded modellers sharing ideas and techniques details of which would depend on the interests and wishes of those participating.

An initial meeting is planned for some time in the early summer.

Interested? Please contact: John Anderson: 01224 743503

The second meeting of the above Group will take place on Saturday 31 October at 1-30 pm at Rockville, Kirkton of Skene (Westhill, nr Aberdeen) AB32 6YA; Tel 01224 743503.

Kirkton of Skene is on the B979 Stonehaven to Blackburn road which joins the A944 Aberdeen to Alford road for about 1/2 mile at Mason Lodge, roughly 1 mile beyond Westhill/Elrick. Turn right onto the B979 when it leaves the A944, pass through K-of-S, and, still on the B979, after turning sharp left at the junction signposted "Tyrebagger" and "Airport". Rockville is about 50 yards on the left. The entrance is marked by a large white-painted stone and is past the entrance to Durno Park, but before that of Carpenters Croft.

Anyone using Satnav etc and the postcode is warned that it will direct you to the dwellings on high ground to the north; we are down below on the village outskirts.

I hope these directions are adequate and can be adapted for those coming from a different direction; the maps for the initial meeting sent as attachments were less than satisfactory. It will be useful to know how many will be attending, and if those who cannot manage this time would like to kept on the contact list.
