Just been checking the train times, it seems the Midland Main Line is closed South of Luton so those of us coming from the South have to use Euston and change at Tamworth or Stoke, either way it adds an hour to the journey.

I thought someone had, but the absence of any mention in Scalefour News sent me to check.
And not seeing any mention here either added the comment, better duplicated than people miss it.

For those of you wishing to review the treasurers report and accounts before the meeting, they are now hosted on the members agm page: www.scalefour.org/members/agm/2015

Paper copies will be available on the day, and if you, or someone you know, would like a paper copy in advance, contact Chris or Mike (aka the Treasurer and Secretary), details here or on the bluesheet (PDF).

Since this is a public area of the site, I will note that those links are available only to registered members. If you're not registered, and are a member, follow the links on the presented login page.

I regret I shan't be there, family issues taking precedence.

I hope the Society enjoys a constructive and positive meeting.

Cracking day, I think the NAG have come of age by organising the AGM.

Thanks.

From behind the scenes…….a big pat on the back for all NAG members and especially the Kitchen Cabinet………Ken's military past stood in good stead for the set up with all members of NAG working as a team………again team work came into play at the end when we were able to dispatch Eileen's, Green Street, Ecclestone, Minories and Greenacre Yard before the deadline of 5pm…….OK, Manston took but 20 minutes to take down and load………thanks guys……..I thoroughly enjoyed the day and hope that the members and committee share my sentiments………

From a ScotRail train approaching the Forth Bridge . . . . (well, after John's remarks, you will all be concerned to know if I caught my train).
A super day in our best traditions. Well worth coming a few hundred miles for. Thanks to all who worked to make it happen.

An excellent day, many thanks to NAG. Thanks too to Jim for so graciously agreeing to sign my copy of his book in response to my opportunistic request.

A very good AGM event and many congratulations to NAG for outing it on. It was very good to see that one area group could summon up five layouts - quite an achievement. Having not seen Green Street before, it was good t see that and Tony Wilkin's fiendish five way turnout and Howard Bolton's Miniories was also very impressive. For those who were unable to get to the AGM, these two layouts have been provisionally lined up for Scaleforum 2016.

And back to the real world... However that was a most excellent day out in Derby. The Nottingham Area Group really did the Society proud, and enormous thanks to them all for putting on such an interesting, and friendly, event.

There was someone with a far more impressive camera than my little compact wandering about during the event, so there may be some properly taken photos for us to enjoy in the near future. To have a flavour of atmosphere of the day, here are a few that I captured.

There was plenty of space to view the layouts, and also for supporting trade. Having Eileen's present meant that I could pick up material to carry on with a current project.

The Society Stores seemed to be doing good business as well:

The NAG test track was very impressive. I'd be happy to scenickify (!) that and call it a layout:

The demonstrators also seemed busy:

Amongst the layouts, I understand that Greenacre Yard is a debut project in P4. It looked and ran well:

When I was wandering around with a camera, I couldn't approach anywhere near Minories, so the exquisite point rodding and trackwork will have to remain unseen:

Although I did have a clear shot at that lever frame...

And of course, for the pre-Grouping enthusiasts amongst us, well...

If you were unable to attend, you missed a really good show, let alone the ability to be involved in the democracy that makes our Society run. And of course the most important thing about Society events the socialising!

See you next year?

From those of us from the Fylde AG, who attended last Saturday, I would like to say 'Thank you' for arranging an excellent day. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and the company.

Those sharp eyed amongst you will have notice that the D&E Modelling table in the picture was devoid of the attendant DEFine members, but there is a pint of Murphys and a pint of Fosters.....it was that kind of day :-)

Did you know that the famous Olympic cyclist Sir Bradly Wiggins comes from Eccleston?
Couldn't resist making & sneaking this "poster" onto Martin's station forecourt.
He didn't twig until a small crowd gathered!
Anyone else spot it?
