NAG Meeting 1st November 2018

Postby RobM » Sat Nov 03, 2018 4:54 pm

Twelve members attended this very lively and enjoyable evening meeting. It was test track night and David had brought several locos to run, including a rebuilt Royal Scot from a Brassmasters kit, a Fairbairn 2-6-4T from an Alan Gibson kit and a GWR Collett 0-6-2T which has a Bachmann body and a Perseverance chassis. Bob brought along his radio-controlled O Gauge ‘Jinty’ and some track to run it on. As expected. It ran superbly.

Martin brought along the block instruments he uses, which belong to Ken, and a signalling tutorial and hands-on practice took place in the kitchen for those members going to operate John Brighton’s layout Millhouses the following day. This was run by Martin and Howard.

Otherwise a lot of modelling activity took place: Peter was continuing building his Judith Edge Kit for a Kitson 0-6-0PT Consett Class A loco; Bob was making rainwater downpipes for a building using nickel silver rod and tube; Barry was continuing work on his GNSR carriage; David was making three-link couplings; Nigel was working on the bridge for his Cupar layout; Simon was looking at the trackplan of Pinxton on his laptop; and Howard and Martin were making levers for the latest lever frame project for John Elliott’s layout Leeds City North.

NAGNOSH don’t forget, our Annual Christmas Dinner at the Victoria Hotel is on Thursday 06 December.

Next week is another modelling night.
