I just bought the Brassmasters P4 kit of this (very nice) as a first kit to try out.
Ordered the Highlevel Roadrunner Plus gearbox (60:1) and their 1230C HL motor as recommended....Tick
Came to order the wheels:
4'7½" 16-spoke 10" crank throw, pin between spokes - (Ultrascale, Alan Gibson, Markits)
Ultrascale - 8 months lead
Alan Gibson and Markits - Can't see them listed on their website.
I'm now left with an expensive kit which I cant do anything with for 8 months !
Converting to P4 seems a very frustrating experience so far. I appreciate many businesses are "cottage businesses" so i'm not knocking them but does anyone have any idea as to where I can get this wheelset????
Where do I get wheels for GWR 18/21XX 0-6-0 Tank

Give Colin a call at Alan Gibson. His number is listed on his website, under how to order, as 0161 6781607. Leave a message if no reply.
Don't forget to tell him you want P4 wheels.
Good luck.

There isn’t a completely suitable wheel listed in the AGW range - the closest is the 4855W, which is a 14 spoke wheel suitable for 57xx etc.
I would recommend that you get an order placed for Ultrascales - then buy a set of Alan Gibson wheels to get the chassis set up - if you are careful they will be usable later on another project. The only complication would be if you are going for a crank axle, in which case I would be careful to ensure that the axle material is the correct diameter, finish and length to match the Ultrascales - I think that this can be supplied ex-stock.

For AG you have to download the catalogue, http://www.alangibsonworkshop.com/Catalogue.pdf
That said there is a variety of 4'71/2" I don't think they do 16 spoke, or 10" crank throw.
And Markits don't do P4 wheels at all.

I ordered some Sharman P4 wheels for an industrial tank loco from Precision earlier this year and they arrived within a couple a weeks.
