In my search for suitable period pictures to finish off a couple of GWR vanes (see question on this in the Wagons sub-forum), I started browsing through my copies of the GWR Journal for suitable articles on goods rolling stock.

It soon struck me that this was a bit of a waste of time, like trying to find a needle in a Middle Chrome Green haystack. So I thought that I would ask the obvious question...

Is anyone aware of an index to the articles published in the GWRJ?

There was the very handy Model Railway Journal index once upon a time. I admit to not being a close follower of matters Green Wirth Rivets, so there may be something very obvious out there. Can anyone help?

Thanks Keith! I must admit, that because I didn't recall one ever having been produced, I didn't think to do such a simple search. Doh!

Alas, there is nothing there - not of standard sized vans that that early anyway. But it's a useful resource to know about, and to bookmark.

If you put ‘Mink’ or ‘Wooden’ you will find a list of articles about the 16ft wooden vans from the early 1900’s or the modern vans from the 1930’s onwards.

You're a star (and far more familiar with the contents of GWRJ than I am). I'd used "Mink" as a key word, thinking all GWR types spoke like that. It came up with mostly the large ones and the modern ones:
