Parkside Kits
Since Peco took over the Parkside range, I became conscious that avaialabilty at Finescale shows and in particular with Wheel Swap to EM and 18.83 was going to be an issue. After badgering Peco very heavily they have finally decided to let me have an account (this was alluded to in March RM, but no names mentioned), so I am very pleased to report that Eileens Emporium will be stocking Parkside procducts.
Orders have now been placed with Peco for the complete range of 4mm kits and parts, all 2mm kits and selected 0 Gauge kits. Also ordered are suitable Gibson Wheels and requests in for relevant Transfers from Modelmaster.
The Parkside kits will be added to the website over the next few days and stock is expected around the middle of next week. The website listings will have options for wheel swap to EM and P4 as well as multi pack pricing for quantities of 4 and 10.
The Parkside range is large so it will take us some time to build up the stock levels up to those that we want to hold, so we strongly recomment pre-ordering for show collections with at least 2 week notice.

That's good news.
I'll be able to add to my increasing mountain of kits much more easily!

Good news, will make it much easier to get everything in one go.
You're not the only supplier offering the wheel swaps as well, which is helpful, H&A informed me at the Stafford show they'll do the same with all Parkside kits they stock.

But they do not cover the specialist EM and Scale Four shows.

That is very true. It is good to have choices though generally I find.

Derek that is fantastic that they allowed you an account. This becomes a practical proposition for the wagon to have the right wheels, the W irons and ETC brass strip all in one move... it means I will have to not get distracted by the idea of new kits!!!!

Brilliant news Derek. Have been searching high and low and am met with 'only 1 in stock' from numerous suppliers.

Re: Parkside Kits
I am not surprised. Initially my stock levels will also be low. The range is so vast that it cost a lot to hold large stocks. Also I can only take an educated guess at which ones people will want.
However I anticipate that (subject to stocks at Peco) I will be able to turn round orders that exceed my stock in one to two weeks. Wheels may take a little longer.
I will build the stock levels over the coming months.
Hence the need for pre-orders for shows.

Re: Parkside Kits
Initial deliveries of kits are in. Peco were out of stock of 4 of the kits and we had to guess which ones would be needed in bigger quantities.
Thanks to those who have placed orders. Some of our gusses were reasonable, others were on the light side, so we will get another order in from Peco within about 2 weeks.
Transfers should arrive today but will take a little time to get onto the website. Wheels are expected tomorrow, hopefull, and also need adding to the website as Wheels in addition to the upgrades on the kits.

Well done Derek.
I wish someone would sort out the Cooper Craft/Slater availability nightmare.

I understand you would need a sizeable lump of cash for a new injection moulding machine.

David,
I have read that suitable S/H moulding machines can be brought relatively cheaply. The difficulty with saving the Coopercraft range lies elsewhere.
Robert Tivendale at POWsides has negotiated direct supply (from Slaters presumably) of their POW and MR wagons kits. They can be found under "4mm undecorated kits" on the POWsides site'

There exists quite a long thread about that on rmweb with quite a few unhappy people.
As far as I've been able to work out, he's had etches available, but plastic items he's broken the moulding machine and is in legal dispute with slaters. I'd expect the ranges effectively to be dead unless he decides to sell them, which apparently he has no interest in doing.

But there are suggestions that Slaters may begin to supply their models again - and POWSides appear to already be able to provide the PO wagon kits.

The open wagons are available on the POWsides website. What else was there?. The GWR carriages, MR six wheel carriages, wagons, vans and cattle trucks, NER hopper wagon and brake van and the Salt Wagon kit as far as I can remember.
The Coopercraft website quotes 72 items in the Slaters range, but that includes underframe kits as well as other bits and pieces. However, I suggest you do not order as the CC website will accept your money but it is clear from the RMweb thread that you are very unlikely to receive any moulded products or get you money back at present.
It does appear that he can supply etched items as these are not produced in house but bought in.

Anyone interested in the Coopercraft saga can read the 59 pages on RMweb http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/112011-cooper-craft-cautionary-notes-for-customers-its-fate-and-thoughts-on-an-alternative/#entry2334286
I suggest we keep this topic to Parkside.

Back to Parkside...
Derek do you know if it would be possible to buy separate sprues? I appreciate you not necessarily wanting to add all the options to the already vast product list, but as you supply Bill Bedford chassis kits (others are available) it would be useful to be able to buy superstructures only.
If these were effectively pre ordered would it be possible? Or do you know whether Peco have a direct gateway for this?
Thanks,

A BB chassis plus a Parkside body will still leave you with quite a lot of bits to source, maybe OK if you plan on replacing buffers, springs etc in any event.

So how come this person is allowed to trade at the Scale4North?
We know of many tales of taking money and refusing to re-fund and also County Court judgements against him.

Correct - see here for inspiration (with another option of underframes - there is at least Dave Bradwell to add to the list too):

Personally, I was thinking 16t mins and Justin Newitt's excellent under pinning, some 12t BR goods vans wouldn't go a miss either. As I type this my credit card is already wincing!

And for those who model the GWR and/or its successor, there are the excellent Brian Morgan underframes available from Jeremy.

There is an article in the latest Railway Modeller about Parkside and wheel swaps as well as spare sprues, with comment from Peco about it.
