Steel Code 60 Flat Bottom Rail

Postby David Catton » Thu Feb 15, 2018 12:04 pm

Does anyone know of a source for such rail? Steel (actual or in appearance) much preferred as this is to be conductor rail alongside steel running rail.

I've Googled without success so wondering if anyone knows of a supplier.

TIA,

Does it have to be code 60? Stores has code 55 in steel if it is of any use.

Many thanks - clearly I should have looked right under my nose! That may well do. Does anyone have any dimensions for this rail?

Hi David,

Did you ever get to try the Scalefour steel code 55 rail with the Peco conductor rail chairs?

The short answer is No. I bought a pile of C&L cast conductor rail chairs but am still waiting for the etched baseplates to show up. . .

The code 55 rail from the SS is a different profile to the Peco conductor rail, having a wider foot. I guess the Code 60 rail being nickel silver is no good? If its non-functioning could you paint it with Humbrol Metalcote Steel? presumably its only the head that appears shiny.
