Just thought I'd let you know the follow up. I eventually decided upon the Roxey Mouldings flywheel for less than £5. I had to ream out the shaft hole slightly as it was a teeny bit tight, as I understand it this is standard practice to make sure things are not too sloppy. Anyway, my secret engine runs great now, even at slower speeds. You cut the power and it still rolls on a bit - just what I wanted.
Many thanks for everyones advice. Hopefully this thread can still serve for the future.
