Sharman Wheels M282

Postby Julian Roberts » Thu Oct 31, 2013 11:06 pm

Does anyone have these Sharman wheels in P4? This is for a Caledonian Wemyss Bay Tank loco. The wheels are scale 5' 8", 20 spoke, crank on spoke, 26" crank throw. Similar but not quite right wheels readily available from Gibson, Ultrascale, Exactoscale, but the Sharmans should be more exactly right.
Or anyone any suggestion how to find some? I've already asked London Road Models (who couldn't help), and emailed Precision Paints (no response)
Thanks. Julian Roberts

You'll be very lucky to get any response out of Precision about Sharman Wheels. Apart from the LNWR-specific wheels that are still made for London Road Models kits (and nobody else), the range is dead.

You may have to compromise with a near-enough wheel.
That would be an ecumenical matter.

I believe that they may still also make wheels for the 3mm Society. It's probably down to volume orders and business relationships.
