Open micro switches

Postby chrisyates » Fri Feb 22, 2013 6:19 pm

Can anyone advise on a source of open micro switches of the same pattern used on Lemaco and Fulgurex turnout motors? They must be used in industry somewhere, but I haven't been able to track them down. Does anyone know what their proper name is? Any help greeatfully received.

I wouldn't recommend their use, in fact I removed ALL my Lemaco/Fulgarex point motors many years ago after continued problems with the switches.

Aren't they the same as the Peco PL32 micro switch?

Why would anyone would want to buy one at those prices when a decent "proper" micro switch is available for 50p - 75p.

Very useful link Martin, thanks.

Rated for one million cycles: that's a lot of shunting!!

Many thanks for the helpful replies, especially Martin Wynne - no comment needed for the others! The switch in the RSS catalogue appears to be identical to the Peco unit.

I'll pursue further and post an update.

Folks

At last I received a small package from Switzerland containing ten spare micro switches for the Lemaco/Fulgurex type of turnout motor. Lemaco no longer seem to be around - or at least are not selling their excellent point motors anymore. However, the switches are identical to those used on the Fulgurex point motor, and Fulgurex were happy to supply spare switches at the very reasonable price of CHF3/switch (about £2). They can be contacted via their website at: http://www.fulgurex.ch/en/index.html ; then go to Accessories. The only difference I can detect from the originals is that the new switches have a black plastic moulding, rather than blue.

Got there in the end!
