CHEAG: Now Second Thursdays of the Month

Postby John McAleely » Sat Mar 16, 2013 10:19 am

We had a very chatty meeting this week at our usual location (Coach & Horses, Newport), discussing what we're all up to, and laying firm plans for those of us participating in the 2013 spot-on-ish challenge to build a finished loco.

We were pleased to learn from the gent who runs the pub that one or perhaps two prospective participants had dropped by the previous week looking for us. Sorry we missed you!

We were meeting last year on the first thursday, so the decision to come along then makes sense. With the start of this 'season' we have decided to move to second thursdays, so if you would like to come along, you will be very welcome.

Next meeting: Thursday 11th April. A talk of some form is under planning, but not yet confirmed.

Just to confirm - we're gathering at the Coach and Horses (http://www.coachandhorsesonline.com) this thursday, from around 8pm (although a few of us sometimes arrive early and get something to eat beforehand).

No talk is planned, but doubtless we will be reflecting on yesterdays very successful loco building workshop. Six members of the group gathered and all made progress on their planned entries for the spot-on (ish) competition this year.

I should be up at Newport in time for a bite to eat :-)

I may dig out the box containing my Challenge entry so that other CHEAG members can assess progress so far ("cut part 1 from fret") and the chances of it being completed in time for judging.
