Following up on the success of CHEAG's Summer season and after much studying of almanacs, fixture lists and timetables we are pleased to announce the date of our first Autumn Workshop. It will take place on Saturday, 29th October at The Church House, Newport, commencing 9.30 until 5.00pm at the modest cost of £10 per head. This will the costs of hiring the facilities.
By utilising the combined expertise and enthusiasm of CHEAG members, this "open" event is aimed at initially kick starting attendee's winter project(s), particularly where progress is considered challenging, stalled or just plain troublesome. The focus of this first workshop will be on rolling stock; whilst subsequent workshops will endeavour to maintain progress on these particular projects their overall focus may well be broadened in line with the needs of current and future participants.
In an attempt to time manage the event, each attendee will be aimed at solving a single problem/issue requiring group attention at the workshop, and in return will be expected to similarly assist with other modeller's problems during the course of the day.Early notification of the problems/issues to be raised at the workshop may well prove to be a vital ingredient in the achievement of successful outcomes - particularly if special tools are needed on site to achieve this result.
To this end,a key agenda item at the October CHEAG Pub Meet ( 8.00pm, Thusday 6th October at The Coach&Horses, Newport) will be to invite prospective workshop participants to declare their modelling problems/issues in advance so that any special arrangements can be made prior to the 29th . To further assist this process, it would be most helpful if any workshop participants unable to make the Pub Meet could advise us of their "problem solving" needs prior to the 6th.
Details on the exact location of The Church House will be circulated nearer the time, suffice it to say that it is but a few minutes walk from the Coach & Horses. The House itself contains all the facilities you might expect for beverage making and food preparation, plus heating. Off street parking is freely available nearby.
If you have any questions, or would like to let us know in advance that you will be attending, please reply here, or contact directly Martin Wilkinson at martin85wilkinson(at)btinternet.com
We look forward to seeing you...
