Glue Looper

Postby andrewnummelin » Tue Jul 06, 2021 7:50 am

On the JNS Forum (https://jnsforum.com/community/) I’ve just seen a positive mention of this tool.
http://www.creativedynamicllc.com/the-glue-looper.html
Does anyone have any experience with it or know if it, or something like it, is available in the UK?
A bit of bent wire would probably do the same job, but possibly not so precisely.

Also mentioned on the n-scale forum (US). Just had a look at the web site and it looks interesting as there are several versions to suit different viscosities of glue. Main snag seems to be that they are not particularly cheap but remembering the etched saw blades that were/are? available for Swann Moreton handles perhaps they are in a similar price bracket for a niche product.

Interesting, a few moments Googling shows several UK sources including Amazon.co.uk, but all currently out of stock with no indication of when stock will be available.

I guess its watch this space.

A piece of electrical wire will do the same near enough.

Agree. And won't cost $28...

This is standard lab equipment,

but I imagine the platinum ones to be expensive...

I have a small, and from memory quite cheap, superglue applicator from Flexifile, bought from my local model shop. The end has two short parallel prongs, rather than a loop, but the principle is the same.

You can make your own by filing, or breaking off the tip of a darning needle to make the eye into a fork.
