AJ Bending Jigs

Postby Dave K » Thu Aug 14, 2008 7:36 am

At Wells, at the weekend, I saw a AJ bending jig which Brian Pearce had. He thought it could be made using micro bore tube and my friend bought some from Finney & Smith to build one.

Talking of AJ couplings on St Merryn reminded me that for those into anniversaries, last year (June) was 60 years since Alex Jackson's seminal article on his coal tank (MRN June 1950). Ten years later was the seminal article on the AJ coupling in the January 1960 MRN. Both anniversaries were ignored, though I did try to get the MMRS interested. The coal tank article shows the coupling. Makes good reading to.
