Mornin' all,
Do we already have an instant access list of the best/most suitable/most commonly used substances relating to our hobby? I'm aware that all knowledge is out there somewhere but it can be a time consuming affair to discover what seems to be everyday common sense to many modellers.

You might be interested in the 'where to get' series in the resources section of this site.
It's not quite what you asked for, but it is similar.

Hi Dave,
To Google the entire public Scalefour site only, enter the search terms in this format in Google:
e.g. copydex site:scalefour.org
But note that this won't return anything visible only to logged-in members.
regards,
Martin.

Now that is useful, thank you Martin.
N.B. replace "copydex" with the search term you want. So I went with GER site:scalefour.org and got the result I've always wanted from the on site search and couldn't get.

The google search covers all of the Scalefour site, the forum search covers the forum, so the forum search on GER brings up 239 entries, the google search finds 261, the extra being mostly references to the kits on offer by our hosted traders, if you are looking for forum entries there is little difference.

I was thinking more of what you used to get if you typed a 3 letter key into our own search bar on the forum, which used to be b****r all.... see http://www.scalefour.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=1269. But I notice that works much better now too. Things have moved on while i've not been watching

Will, towards the end of my tenure I did find some more 'buttons' for individual forums……..once tweaked all the search engines started indexing…….obviously omitted to say that I done it
