Putting it all together - Part 1

Postby Steve Carter » Wed Dec 02, 2009 8:10 pm

Last Sunday 6 members of SLAG hired one of the clubrooms in the Leisure Centre and spent the day recording step-by-step how to put up and take down our layout, St Merryn. This was a good exercise and is an important part of exhibiting a layout that can often be overlooked.

Below is a sneak at some of the photos I took during the day.

Good idea, gives you a real chance to examine how it goes together, where the pitfalls are, what could be done better, what really annoys you about putting it up and what you can do about it.

Away from setting up for an exhibition, with all the pressures that entails.

Any thoughts on what went well, and what could be better and what you've done about it?

Sorry for the delay in replying Tim.

Yes it was a very good exercise in recording just how everything goes together. What goes where and why things have to be done in a certain order will certainly be a help next time we exhibit.

It was also a good lesson in patience, especially when packing-up. Just take your time or accidents could well happen.

At the end of the day I am sure we all felt a lot more confident in handling the layout setting up and taking down.

All in all it was a very worthwhile and enjoyable day.
