Back to Askrigg for this months meeting. We do like to try and 'play trains', sorry, operate a layout whenever we can. As usual we went to one of the local pubs for our lunch. Ian is spoiled as he has three watering holes within a five minute walk, all of which serve locally brewed Real Ale, oh, they also do good food. All were saddened to hear that Chris King had been having serious health issues, which prevented him from attending.
Ian's eyesight has stopped deteriorating but the loss of vision still gives him lots of problems. This is where having a group of fellow enthusiasts comes to the for as whenever we visit there is usually something for us to fix or repair. Having said that, Ian was so impressed with the Megapoints system on Chris's layout that he has ditched his 'wire in tube' control in favour of servo units. They worked pretty well for the first operating system.
More changes to the operating sequence, although only minor, seemed to creep in.
