CRAG Meetings in early 2014

Postby Ian Everett » Tue Jan 14, 2014 8:30 am

CRAG meetings in early 2014 will be as follows:

Thurs Jan 9th. Meeting was held at my house to test Clecklewyke
Sat Jan 25th Kendal Show (meet for lunch at 1ish)
Thurs Feb 13th normal meeting
Sat March 8th Trial run of Clecklewyke in Askrigg Village Hall
Fri- Sun April 11-13 Scalefour North. Volunteers needed to help operate Clecklewyke

The March meeting will be a mini-trial run to practice transporting and setting up and operating Clecklewyke. To avoid significant costs this will be in the village hall next to our house, so no van will be needed. It will be advertised locally and in the press as a "Tea and Trains" afternoon, inviting locals and visitors in to have tea and buns and see Clecklewyke being operated, with donations to cover the cost of hall hire and comestibles, any surplus going to a local charity. An early start at 11.30 will be needed to get a lot of the setting up started in the morning, the remainder being done in the early afternoon, with "Tea and Trains" between 2.30 and 4.30. (Volunteers for the kitchen would also be welcome!!!)

Anyone in the Wensleydale area will be very welcome - it should be fun!

Well, we seem to be well set up for the meeting on 8th March in the village hall. Clecklewyke is all ready to go (although there are lots of jobs which could be done to improve it - but none essential). We have a quorum of eight good souls to man the layout and the kitchen - including three ladies from Askrigg - and some CRAG regulars have yet to respond. Posters are up in Askrigg and its surrounds - here it is:

It will be interesting to see how many people turn up. Word seems to have got about quickly and I am sure the regular coffee morning crowd of shall we say third age people will come. The room is not very big so I hope we won't have to turn people away!
