Bristol Group visit MMRG

Postby Tim V » Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:52 pm

We were the guests of MMRG (Mendip Model railway Group) this week, for a talk by John Birkett-Smith (of Ashburton, Totnes fame) on backscene painting.
Prior to this, Paul Townsend and Robin Gay admire the work being done on Great Elm

We are sat down waiting for the talk to begin.

And in for a close look. The backscene is for Jerry Clifford's new 2mm layout of Tucking Mill viaduct.

Many thanks to John and our hosts at MMRG for an interesting and useful evening.

John's tips are carefully noted and practice will start soon for my next layout.

Wow, our hosts bought the beer too!!!
Pity about dense fog all the way home but the slow journey gave us plenty of time to review the advice. I was gutted to hear of damage to Clutton on return from Wyre. Have repairs started yet?
