More Food!

Postby Paulhb » Thu Dec 22, 2011 12:32 am

One of the specialities of the Bristol group is the Curry night so it is therefore no surprise that our Christmas 2011 event was a curry!

An excellent turnout of eighteen regulars, partners and friends turned out first to that recently reopened real ale emporium the Bag o Nails and then next door to an old favourite curry establishment. An excellent time was had by all with much jollity and banter.

Question is, where are the photos?

The Persian tailor next door looks interesting. Was that not the pub where the poor girl met her boyfriend on that fateful day last year? OT, I know but interesting.

To bring it back, one could have once sat there and watched the goods trains entering Cannons Marsh and the little Gas works engine puffing away behind the wall.

Ah me, all gone now. Sigh, Howard

even better, my fantasy while walking to the Bag o'Nails was to have travelled there by rail, see Brian Arman's Broad Gauge model of Canon's Marsh station!

I hope it's 4mm otherwise I've wandered OT. I presume the train shed is the one at TM re-situated, lovely stuff.
