Flat Bottom track prototype practice.

Found this online. It's essentially The Permanent Way Institution details, in relation to the MOD, but very handy for modellers. It also includes narrow gauge.

It's the most up to date version I've seen but it dates from June 2009.

I'm sure there used to be plans of FB plain track, as there are for Bullhead but where are they? In particular sleepering or 60, 45 and 30 foot panels.

After a lot of research, it''s a sad state of affairs that there are no templates for 60' wooden sleeper flat bottomed track, or concrete sleepers available. Plnety of Bullhead GER, LNWR, MR, GWR, SR, LNER, LMS, but no BR.

Table 6, p54, BRT3.
Table 4, p70, BRT4.

Number of sleepers per 60ft varies with ground conditions, traffic levels and radius.

Enter the dimensions in Templot, print a template.

I will post some scans.

Martin.
