Templot on Chromebook computers

Postby Martin Wynne » Tue Oct 13, 2020 10:00 pm

Codeweavers have just announced CrossOver 20, with support for ChromeOS on Chromebook computers.

Which in theory means Templot can now run on Chromebook computers.

I've no idea whether it will or not -- in fact I don't even know what a Chromebook computer is? :?

But somebody does, and if you have one there is a free trial of CrossOver available:

https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover#chrome

Anyone care to try it and report back?

Martin.

ChromeOS is just a very minimul Linux with Chrome browser as the only interface. Very locked down however, everything has to be in the browser and 'install' from the ChromeOS store. There isn't often any or much local storage and everything is in the cloud generally.

With the above in mind, Chromebooks are very cheap and low powered.

However, some Chromebooks can be hacked to run a full Linux, giving a rather cheap functional laptop.
