Track versus weather

Some have been reporting troubles due to expanding rails and Highbridge has had one or two broken soldered joints in the hot weather.

What I have noticed as more troublesome is an increase in track tarnishing. My nickel silver rail normally goes around 2-3 months before I need to run my various track cleaning vehicles. Recently every two weeks seems a minimum and this week it was only reliable for the one week :(

Have other people suffered from this effect?

Hi Paul.
As tarnishing is basically oxidation, which is a chemical reaction and chemical reactions generally accelerate with increasing temperature, I suppose this is to be expected to some extent.

Tony.
