WAnted - Crossing Vee Filing Jig for angles9,10,11, 12

If anyone is willing to part with a crossing vee filing jig - angles 9,10,11,12 I should be grateful.
This is no longer on stock, although the smaller angle jig can still be ordered. I've spoken with Jeremy re availablity and realise there is an issue with high manufacturing costs for small numbers. Thought I would try this route as an alternative. David

If it helps with getting them made I am also after one.. I don't know what sort of numbers would be needed to get a batch made?

I have been very fortunate to get Jeremy's own long V filing jig. I guess you are not the only member or future member who will need one.
It would be handy to get some numbers so anyone else in need? It's the same issue for the EMGS. Perhaps a combined effort?

I think I will need some turnouts with Vs in that range, so yes, I'd like a jig.

The Society has a drawing of the filing jig for the larger angles and it has been agreed that we will seek a price to get some made. The price will probably not be much more that for the smaller angles jig but that was a couple of years ago and it will depend on how many we order.

Thanks Terry. Even though I now have the long jig it seems there might be some demand. I don't know if you have a contact in the EMGS - the last time I contacted them they did not have stock. They may be willing to help with quantities if that helps to bring the price down. David

I too could do with one, as the plan I have been working on calls for 1:9 and 1:10 points to ease tightness where possible.

I have checked on the delivery. A combination of lots of work and staff illness means that production of the jigs is about two weeks behind the estimated delivery date which will make delivery about February 22nd/23rd. I shall be at the Glasgow show that weekend so collection will probably be around Feb 27th/28th and then there will be a few days to get the case hardening done and cleaning up after the hardening which I do. With luck and a following wind the jigs should be with Jeremy by about March 8th/9th.

I'll be buying the smaller set of jigs fairly soon for the next layouts soon to be built. Frame work is in progress.

My previous dabble didn't use any jigs and I got things to work so I'm convinced I do not need them but I am also convinced the extra ease, speed and consistent accuracy will be an investment that I am certain will significantly reduce frustration, balls ups and potential issues later down the line...pun intended I guess.

Greatfull they exist for us.

btw is there any guides on using the vee filing jigs? I used to buy pre-made from C&L but I thought it was time to give it a go myself
