I came across this when researching track, it is from the "Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers" vol XVIII Jan-Jun 1888 that has been digitised and can be found at https://archive.org/details/transactionsofamciven18amer
I know there are some modellers of the GER on here, and since it is from an obscure source, thought it may help.
