The 13th February saw a strong turnout, with 8 members present and apologies from two. Unfortunately the meeting was somewhat subdued due to the loss of a long standing member of the group Peter Gibb, and the arrangements to attend the funeral being the foremost discussion.
Peter had very rarely missed our meetings and always seemed to enjoy them; he also went to many Scaleforums, both north and south. His passion was the West Lancashire Railway, later being taken over by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway and had over the years amassed much information along with modelling materials in both 4mm and 7mm to support his interest. In the early years of the group when the Christmas hotpot was in our house, he would always turn up with a large apple pie prepared and baked by his wife Margaret, for us all to enjoy. He will be sadly missed our thoughts go to Margaret and their three children, Alexander, Alison and Dominic.
A few items also turned up for a run, with Karl brining along his latest commission and LNER 2-6-0 and Richard a couple of South Eastern coaches derived from Roxey kits which were still work in progress, and very fine they all looked. Photographs included below.
Our next meeting is a ‘Run & Natter’ on Thursday 19th March, starting at 7.30pm for 8.00pm.
Please contact myself the organiser (details on the Blue Sheet) for more information.
