Latest DRAG night

Postby Rod Cameron » Tue May 05, 2009 5:06 pm

Thanks Keith for creating these subfora, I'm sure they will be very instructive and entertaining :)

Anyway, here goes. DRAG night last week showed the Mk1 test track still soldiering on but most of the activity centred on the new TT2 which has reached the stage of corking (following varnishing and painting) prior to real tracklaying. Brian Pearce, Tim Maddocks and John Farmer at least are facing the camera. (Incidentally, this is Holcombe Village Hall near Teignmouth which would be the venue for one of the Workbench days as advertised on p25 of the new Snooze, albeit referring to 2007 rather than 2009).

Perhaps John is trying to stop an on-coming pannier tank behind the photographer?! ;) :D

Lovely work on the old Mainline body, if you look closely you can see the sanding gear! :o Very nice.

I picked this Warship up for £10 at a local second hand shop as it 'didn't work', after taking it hope and removing the body it ran fine, some silly fool had tightened the screws up too much which were catching on the flywheels. Now it runs like a dream! The Gibson wheels were more expensive than the loco! :D ;)

Really great to see TT2 Denis has done us proud.

(From left to right) Denis, Brian, Tim, John, David and Rod discuss track laying on TT2 (Rather interesting discussion!) Shortly after this shot was taken the Flying Banana arrived on the test track!

Nice photos Nick!

The numberplate looks slightly wonky, but I think it's merely the effect of the wide-angle lens... :?

Monday night saw our first DRAG meeting of June in the Alice Cross centre at Teignmouth. Quite a lot of different locos and stock were brought by a number of our members and here is a small sample;

Latest update from our DRAG meeting;
David Mead's Martin Finney Aberdare LocO.jpg

Mr Mead brought his Aberdare loco, very nice Finney kit.
Mr Pedder's HST.jpg

We did have a small crash during the session, Rich's new HST 'fell off' the track (this was after the wheels were swapped from EM to P4!)
Tim and Rod assess poor track.JPG

Captain K assesses one of the poor track sections with Mr Cameron
Brain Pearce's 0-4-0 Saddle Tank Loco.jpg

And Brain Pearce brought along a rather nice little saddle tank, built when he was the same age as me!
Graham, David, John, Pete and Denis talking!.JPG

Selection of chaps talking!
