Sad,sad to hear……Eileen’s was my one shop where I could get 90% of my needs and always had great service from Derek and family.
Over the years you have served me well and Eileen’s will be sorely missed. Hopefully, your life will find an alternative less stressful direction.
Love to you all and my best wishes for the future
Rob

But they only retail them, so once their stock has gone so too has the source....
All the BB valve gear / motion etches will be lost as well.
I can think of at least one tools / model supplier that might be tempted to expand their empire a little further. Whether they can cope with it and run it, of course, is another matter.
Also the Avonside Works Chassis Jig.

Fair enough. Have opened an account with AMS and have spotted a few things that might be worth a punt. Could end up with a day trip to Gloucester....
That would be an ecumenical matter.

Don't forget the 20% buyer's premium and 20% VAT.

I believe the VAT is only payable on the buyer's premium in case anyone thinks it is on the bid amount.

Derek,
I struggle to imagine just how wearing and distressing this slow post-Eileen's process is for you all.......
Our best wishes for your continued good health and eventually reaching 'calmer waters', and many thanks again for the exemplary service you provided over so many years. Certainly made my job much easier at certain critical times.
All best,
Steve

Re: Closure of Eileens Emporium
I have just looked through the sale items and to see whole boxes of kits and tools being sold as lots is very sad. Hard to see that any individual could want such quantities of knife blades, brass wire or sheet styrene to name just a few things. I guess a few (remaining) traders might have some interest.

I fear that it isn't that simple. It depends on the VAT status of the seller [not the auctioneer], the goods themselves, and that of the buyer. Depending on the circumstances the bid amount may include VAT, or not. The auctioneer should be able to provide some guidance - check their website.

My mistake, further research on the AMS website reveals:
V.A.T is payable at the current standard rate payable on the day of the Sale. V.A.T is applicable to both the hammer price and the buyer’s premium.
