Chivers Kits Return...
It appears that the range of plastic kits Roger Chivers used to produce are in the process of being put back into production...
One of his sons is putting them together at the moment and it's worth watching http://www.five79.co.uk/
MDV's are definitely on the acquisition list. My current build needs company https://www.scalefour.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=6975

Re: Chivers Kits Return...
This is interesting I have seen some kits built here in Melbourne and they seemed very nice. A LNER pigeon van was one from memory the guy who built it who was very complimentary of it. I will keep an eye on this!

Has anybody a list of their kits from the previous incarnation of the business? They're asking for votes for reintroductions, but I don't know what moulds they have.

All sounds very exciting.
I just wonder if they will be producing the excellent white metal loco kits?
I would dearly like the Manning Wardle 0-4-0 F class saddle tank locomotive.

Not a list, but ones I have are:
RC416 BR/LNER Dia120 Gresley 4W full brake (pigeon van)
RC447 BR/SR 20T mineral Dia1386
RC448 BR/SR 20T ballast Dia1771
RC449 BR/SR 15T ballast Dia1773 (Ling)
I think there was also a Tunny ballast wagon

Re: Chivers Kits Return...
I have posted a suggestion on Matt's Facebook page to publish a list of available kits, although I believe from earlier posts he already has this in hand.

Re: Chivers Kits Return...
I can add to the list the LMSR Diagram 1674 Double Bolster and D2069 wooden drop-sided Plate, and the D2115 6-wheel Fish Van.
The mouldings visible in their Facebook posts include parts of the Pigeon Van.

Well, that completely stymies my plans to make a fortune on EBay.

There was indeed. We have lots waiting to be built and I did one some years back.
Others I know of which are in the same box waiting to be built, some of which may duplicate Rod's list
BR Lamprey
BR/SR Crab - I an finishing off a batch of seven of these
BR/LMS Tube wagon D 1673
BR Mineral wagon D 1/120
Useful kits which go together well although replacement buffers are worth thinking about

So basically what you're saying is that you're going to have some second hand but unbuilt Chivers kits for sale on the eBay for a reasonable price?
Or not.
What's your seller ID Tim?

No, of course I'm not selling them! The above was an ironic juxtaposition of humorous cynicism.
They're excellent kits and I'd have already built them by now, had the signaller's strike about 10 years gone ahead, as I was down to be a scab at one of our signalboxes, an extremely quiet crossing box with probably just one milk lorry a day using it, on 12 hour shifts. The Chivers pile was going to be my way of passing the time!
I will be selling some blue and red boxed stuff in due course, mind.

Well, one can't tell Captain
Ah, looks like I will have to "build" those damn Jidenco Lings in the "I'm not ready for this" box after all

Re: Chivers Kits Return...
I assume that it is the 'new' range of plastic kits that is being re-introduced?
The Chivers kit that has been on my wish list for many a year was an etched kit for the SR Special Cattle Van. What chance is there that the etched kits will also be introduced?

Those and some cast whitemetal items. No suggestion at present of etched kits; see https://www.facebook.com/five79ng which has listings of what is currently being worked on.

I wonder if they will reintroduce the etched 16T mineral wagon chassis? It was wonderful.
Ordsall Road (BR(E)), Forge Mill Sidings (BR(M)), Kirkcliffe Coking Plant (BR(E)), Swanage (BR (S)) and Heaby (LMS/MR). Acquired Thorneywood (GNR). Still trying to "Keep the Balance".
