The clock change is rapidly approaching and the darker evenings will give us more time for our hobbies. We have several important announcements in the Show Diary so please look carefully at these. Also, we have several new products released since the last newsletter.
As usual we plan to close over the Christmas period. Our last day of normal operation will be Thursday December 22nd and will return to normal service on Tuesday 3rd January. We may operate for odd days during the holidays but do not guarantee it.

Saturday 3 December - Africa, Middle East
Wednesday 7 December - Cyprus, Asia, Far East (including Japan), Eastern Europe (except Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia)
Thursday 8 December - Caribbean, Central & South America
Saturday 10 December - Greece, Australia, New Zealand

Wednesday 21st December - UK
The juggling act that both show managers and traders have to follow continues to cause havoc. With both York (being at Easter with movable dates) and Warley (also having to move about with the NEC dictating dates) there are always knock on problems. Recently, it seems more and more organizers are having venue issues on their chosen dates.
In chronological order:
As previously announced, we will be returning to the Wakefied show on 18/19/20 November. We are pleased to be returning to this show after a few years of absence.
*** READING 0 GAUGE *** A last minute change of date, now confirmed as 10th December, 1 week later than normal and previously published. This appears to be due to a booking error by the venue. As this no longer clashes with Manchester (3/4 Dec) we will take a better range of products to both shows.
Chiltern Show (Formerly St Albans) is now being held at Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre, SG1 1LZ 14/15 January.
Also previously mentioned, Bristol 0 Gauge (22 Jan) and Southampton (28/29 Jan) do not clash this year so they will both have more products available.
We have for the first time accepted an invitation to the Macclesfield Show (11/12 March).
Our first time exhibiting at Derby will be 6/7 May.
Chatham is changing venue and date so regrettably we will not be attending this year.
Expo EM North has developed into a nice show, but had to change venues a year ago, then move back and now have to move again to the same venue as 2015 (9/10 September to be confirmed)
Looking further ahead, there is a clash coming next year. Wigan and Great Electric Train Show (Gaydon) are both booked for 7/8 October 2017. We have heard that Wigan will move 1 week earlier, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Several new products are now in stock.
After a long absence, we have finally managed to obtain a supply of 1.5mm silver steel rod. This is not a sustainable source and will not last for ever.
We have increased our range of Eclipse branded products by adding Junior Hacksaws and Blades (ECLJHS & ECLJHSBM).
We are frequently asked for DCC wiring wires, so have added relevant products to our range.
We now offer DCC bus bar wire in multiples of 1m. This is heavy duty wire supplied as a pair of one Brown and one Blue wire, each single solid copper core 2.5mm cross section area, sufficient for low voltage drop over almost any load or distance (ELWDCC). We are also offering fine decoder wire in 4 colours, a search for ELW02003 will find them.
Since Vallorbe stopped manufacture of 4" engineers files we have not had stock of 4" Hand flat for some time. We now have some good quality unbranded 4" files in stock. Search for FLE4 will find them. We still have limited stock of the Vallorbe 4" Half Round files and as they go will be replaced by unbranded ones.
In response to demand, we now have in stock Deluxe Glue 'n' Glaze, Deluxe Glue Buster and Deluxe Roket Glue Tips.
We now have stock of all the small brass tubes. Our supplier has a broken tool and this will not be replaced so the 1.5mm OD tubes are an issue. We have stock of 1.5 x .05 while they last and no longer have 1.5 x 1. We are looking to see what we can offer as alternatives.
Avonside Chassis2 jigs are awaiting some sheet metal parts and should be in stock within 2 to 3 weeks.
All Hold and Fold except 8" are in stock. The 8" are under manufacture and should be available within a few weeks.
PRICE INCREASES / EXCHANGE RATES
We have seen further increases in prices on some Iwata products and we are not convinced that they will not increase more. We are still offering their airbrushes at about 10% below recommended retail price.
We have not yet been hit with price rises from most of the branded American product (K&S, Plastruct, Evergreen) but expect it to be significant when it does come.
Balancing this our export customers will be benefiting from this and getting lower prices.
We have a special offer valid until the end of November. We are offering 10% off Evergreen and Plastruct materials. These offers are for retail sales only and are not available for long. They are only valid for orders placed before the end of day on Friday 30 November 2016. For all offers please enter PLAS16 in the Coupon box on checkout and do not forget to give the show name for collection in the comment box if appropriate.
Full details of all our other products are on our website.
Derek, Anita and Matt.
Do not forget that you can beat the queues at shows by pre-ordering through the website. There is a checkout option for this. You can choose to pay through the website or on collection. Please state in the 'Comments' box which show you wish to collect the order from.
Please allow at least 1 week for pre-orders, 2 weeks for Guildex - Telford, Scale Model World, Scaleforum, Railex, Expo EM, York and Warley.
