Masokits??? Still active???

Postby iak » Tue Oct 22, 2013 10:50 am

Morning all.
Can anyone advise as to if Mike Clark is still active as Masokits please? :(
The webpage on the Society pages is still showing the September 2011 price list and basically I'd like to obtain some more screw link coupling etches, amongst other things.

In January 2013 I wrote and asked Mike Clark for the 'current catalogue' and received the 2011 version.

In July - time passes so quickly - I ordered some etches, making sure I included the P&P cost, and received a delivery of the complete order within the time span Mike quotes.

I've even built one of the chassis kits up - and very nice it is too.

Hope this helps.

Joe

Mike Clark was present at Scalefour as a punter, but pressure of work has I understand not allowed him to participate as a trader this year.

He hasn't attended as a trader for a while now. But I can confirm he is still active, I put an order in last week and the cheque was presented yesterday.

Kind regards,

Nick.

For those of us over the seas an far away, is there anywhere to get Mike's bits online? I used to get them through an earlier incarnation of Blacksmith Models but sadly no more.

Cheers,

David

Hi Mike,

Sadly it is all mail order.

Kind regards,

I've updated the page we host to reflect the fact that the catalogue appears to remain current this year.

Russ is quite correct. I also spoke to Mike at Scaleforum and told him that many Societry members and other visitors would be delighted to see him back as a trader. He will be sent an invitation to attend Scaleforum 2014 but of course it will be very much up to him to decide if he is able to come.

What Mike does for the Masokits range is very much a spare time activity, and I happen to know that he has another leisure time activity that consumes a lot of his time.

Some of us have another part-time leisure activity called work!

Can I ask again if Masokits is still active? It's a year since the last message on this thread and I want to order some tiebars. As functioning tiebars, they take a lot of tough use using Tortoise motors and have never let me down.

Yes he's still about. Just pop an order in the post with your cheque.

Yes, definitely active.

There's no website - you need to write for a price list, and all orders have to be sent by post (and must be paid for by cheque).

I certainly see no reason to complain about that.

My main current interest is for a few more Mk 1 gangways, and thus the current/2011 catalogue will do me fine for that - but it would be interesting to know what new items were/are in the pipeline?

Cheers,
Pete

I've spoken to Mike this evening and the Price List, no 17, is still current and he'll have a new one (which I know contains some tasty S&T stuff) out in the spring.

Hello,
I've just been asked if this Company is still active. I am aware that list No 18 was published last May, but my friend wonders if Mike is still trading.
Any info?
Regards,
Ken Kirk
