Eileens Emporium Newsletter July 2013

Postby derekrussan » Tue Jun 25, 2013 3:00 pm

Special Offer

This months special offer is £10 off our Watchmakers Vice and free postage (UK excluding Highlands and Islands). Also £3 off the spare mounting plates. This applies only to our part numbers TLSWMV and TLSWMVB, making the price with the offer £70 and £10 for a second baseplate.

This vice is similar in design to a product from Bergeon currently which I have recently seen retailing at £234.00. A very battered example (not even claiming to be made by Bergeon) recently sold on EBay for more than my offer price.

This offer is for web orders only (including show collection), please enter "VICE2013" in the comments box on checkout. This applies until the end of August 2013.

Open Day

We are now very close to our open day on Saturday 29th June. There will be 10% of everything (including the offer above) and a free BBQ. Product demonstrations will be available and plenty of time to chat in a relaxed environment.

Please contact us for directions, times etc. The workshops are not at the advertised address.

If you have already contacted us we will be sending out directions in the next day or so. If you already know where to come, please advise of numbers so as we can plan the catering.

Small Taps and Dies

We have now secured another supply of 14BA taper taps, but are still unable to obtain on-going supplies of 14BA 2nd Taps or any 16BA taps.

Currently in stock we have 14BA taper, 14BA bottom and 16BA taper taps and a single 16BA die.

We will continue to try to find an alternative source. 12BA and larger are not a problem.

Soldering Course

The soldering course on 8th June resulted in happy customers going on their way to further practice their skills. The next course is on 17th August and is fast filling up, so book now to avoid disappointment.

We will cover: Using 188, 145 and 70 degree solders, soldering for strength, soldering of cosmetic parts, avoiding excess solder, soldering white metal, soldering electrical connections, rail droppers etc.

The courses will be held at weekends in the vicinity of Gloucester. The cost will be £60 per head, and any equipment used in the course will be offered to attendees at a discount. Lunch is also provided.

You will be encouraged to bring your own tools and models, but equipment can be provided if required.

If you are interested please contact us to register your interest and give us some idea of your needs.

Full details of all our other products are on our website.

Just back from an fine day at Eileen's, the weather was gorgeous, the burgers excellent. Pictures may follow.

Given the choice of: Silverstone, Wimbledon, Glastonbury with the Stones, Bittern doing a high speed run on the ECML and Robbie Williams in concert at Wembly I send my thanks to all who attended in the face of such choice (OKAY maybe Robbie is not a contender).

We all enjoyed it and I hope all those who came did too.

A note about the Watchmakers Vices. We have been surprised by the response to this offer. We have stock of the vices, but have run out of the spare base plates and have already exhausted the stock at our supplier. More will come through, but it may be a bit slow.

Derek, Anita and Matt.
