New book 'Electronics for Model Railways' launched

Postby John McAleely » Sun Dec 21, 2014 11:01 pm

MERG member Davy Dick has recently published an ebook "Electronics for Model Railways", which I've been enjoying dipping into over the last few weeks. It's now available to all at the MERG website:

'Electronics for Model Railways', Davy Dick (ebook, free)

Thanks for the link John, and thanks to Davy for writing it. This is a subject that usually makes my eyes glaze over, hopefully this will change that!

Curious!
I have been pondering rejoining MERG for a while now and intend using the saving on MRJ non-renewal to fund it.
Then I noticed that the UK membership was, on their home page, 1883.
OK, I'm convinced - rejoining now.

But John, then they'll have 1884!

Just looked myself and it says "Over 2,100 members worldwide" and there are little flags for each country where they have members - 1888 in the UK. We presently have 1727 in the UK and 1881 in total.

http://www.merg.org.uk/

I wonder how they have that constantly updating? Their membership database must be cleverer than ours.

And before anyone asks, In the last six years there have only been eleven days when our total has been 1883, but here is no significance to this total as at anytime that we reach 1883, we may reach 1884 the day after or drop back down to 1882. Since the founding of the Society in February 1976, 5889 numbers have been issued to date, starting from no. 1001.

All the Best
Danny
