P4 Starter Pack: Additional Instruction Links

Postby John McAleely » Fri Nov 25, 2016 3:52 pm

For our current starter packs, there are threads discussing their construction:

P4 Starter Pack A: 16T Steel Mineral Wagon

P4 Starter Pack B: RCH 7 Plank Open

There are also additional instructions available:

Craig Welsh's RCH underframe (PDF)

Justin's BR 16 ton underframe (PDF)

Discussions and questions are welcome on this thread, but they will get moved onto their own threads from time to time, in order to ease the reading for new starters. Note that as Guest Book threads, contributions and questions are welcomed from non-members.

Hello, Knuckles here replying as a guest. Usual membership number 6641.

After having a bit of a break from the hobby I forgot to renew my membership, wasn't on purpose and obviously I can't log in 'cus I'm an outsider now lol.

Any idea if can get the same account and number re-instated.
If so what's the correct procedure and order of hoops to jump through?

Regards,
Gavin

Yay! Back in the castle.

Appreciate the replies from you all, didn't know if expired membership followed by renewal would reset things somewhat and mess up membership numbers etc.

Been lax on the modelling front recently having a bit of a break considering lots of life changes etc, didn't mean to forget to renew.

All good now :thumb

For some odd reason, this link to the 16t doesn't seem to work...or at least the download doesn't start.
That would be an ecumenical matter.

Firefox tells me that it will not download it as it's a 'Security risk' ?

This worked for me just now, but I note that it is a link to rumney models website, so it may be worth drawing to the attention of Justin. The link appears to be http: not https:, which presumably may be regarded as problematic by your browser these days. Try this instead:

https://website.rumneymodels.co.uk/wp-c ... -_B.18.pdf

(same file, from the same source, but as https).

The underframe etch is from Rumney Models I believe, so makes sense the instructions would be on his website.

Rumney Model is a Wordpress site and secure. The reason is the link in your original post resolves to http not https

Code: Select all

http://website.rumneymodels.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/B.13-B.18-16T_Mineral_Wagon_Chassis_Instructions_B.13_-_B.18.pdf

It all worked back in 2016 :o

If you are on an https page (which this forum now is), Firefox regards links to http as a security risk. Users can override this for each site in the Firefox settings.

cheers,

Martin.

I’ve edited the original post to fix this.
