BACKSCENE MATERIAL ON WESTCLIFF

Postby ken kirk » Thu Feb 11, 2016 1:46 pm

Some time ago I saw a lovely layout called Westcliff. This used a plastic sheeting material for the backscene.
Does anyone have any details of this material?
Many thanks,
Ken

Yes, I was also interested in that back scene, and some years ago, they did a demo, and I took these pictures.

We use a similar approach on Black Country Blues, although the material used is not as thick. Ours is PVC used for printing exhibition pop up banners. IIRC it came in a 10m roll.

The effect works well and gets a lot of positive comments at shows, but does need 5 or 6 people on hand to feed the back scene between its supports!

Hi Phil,
The company who printed it were called DBX Group and had premises in Stafford. Unfortunately they aren't there any more and their website seems to have vanished too. The full spec of the material is "printable satin finish 385 micron rigid PVC".
Hope that helps.
